PPP-Professional PEARL Prep October 2020-January 2021 
Professional P.E.A.R.L. Prep: In partnership with entrepreneurs and knowledge holders across Metro Atlanta, Melanated P.E.A.R.L. Corporation is committed to hosting the Professional P.E.A.R.L. Prep sessions focused on job and career readiness. This campaign creates a space for professional learning to share knowledge that helps fuel the growth of Black-owned and women-led businesses by focusing on the following: 

• Job readiness training support is taught by entrepreneurs with corporate training experience to prepare participants to get, keep and excel at a new job. Basic employability skills include effective communication, problem solving, resume building, and interviewing. Job readiness training programs also help participants develop good work habits that facilitate their ongoing success.
• Work readiness skills are a set of skills and behaviors that are necessary for any job. Work readiness skills are sometimes called soft skills, employability skills, or job readiness skills. These abilities help employees learn how to interact with supervisors and co-workers.
• Career readiness is the attainment and demonstration of requisite competencies that broadly prepare college graduates for a successful transition into the workplace. These competencies are: Critical Thinking/Problem Solving: Exercise sound reasoning to analyze issues, make decisions, and overcome problems.

Employment Search Support - South Metro  Jan 25, 2021 -April 2021.

• Employment Assistance 2021: Melanated PEARL Corp streamline the job search process by providing direct links to employment opportunities in South Metro Atlanta and Clayton County. Thanks to a Board Volunteer we are able to research and post employment opportunities weekly for those actively seeking employment. Current postings are based on data received weekly and target employment in Clayton County and South Metro Atlanta.

Mother of PEARL - October 2020-June 2021 
BACKGROUND: Many Clayton County residents are negatively impacted by the end of COVID-19 supplemental unemployment aid. Although the statewide judicial emergency stopped the process for a time, the Clayton County Magistrate Court is hearing dispossessory cases again. While the Clayton County Community Service Authority does offer financial assistance to help keep people from losing their homes, a typical household in Georgia with one adult and two children requires approximately $5,000 a month to cover basic expenses. This simply is not a reality for many working Black women living in Georgia.  
The Mother of P.E.A.R.L. Housing Initiative and Eviction Prevention Program: offers financial support to assist displaced women or families facing eviction secure safe and affordable housing. With the help of volunteers, Melanated PEARL Corporation will work with women and families to provide financial assistance that will serve to bridge a short-term economic shortfall in rent, utility, and/or security deposit payments at no cost to the participants. Participants will be assisted with first and last month’s rent and security deposit up to $4,000 (per family). 
Program Objectives- Provide financial assistance; up to $4k, Financial education/budget management and credit management, and Secure property-long term. 

• Approved participants must meet eligibility assessment / screening requirements and must agree to a financial literacy training (at no cost to the participant) provided by Melanated PEARL Corporation. 

The Melanated PEARL Corporation will also work directly with participants to help repair credit and establish savings so that participants will be better equipped to handle a financial crisis in the future with a financial literacy development program.

Save Our Jewels and Melanated Pearl are partnering to provide a total of 2,500 packs of plant-based and non-toxic Reign Premium Sanitary Napkins to the schools, homeless shelters, and church listed below by 7/31/21, and it will take us $25,500 to get there!

PEARL is an acronym meaning Passionate Engaged Activists, Resisting Limitations and we speak to our audiences passions, engage them, give them a call to action and show them how to resist the idea that they are limited in any way.


Melanated Pearl Corporation plays a vital role in building a healthy community by providing critical services that contribute to economic stability and mobility of women. Our organization targets services for Black Women in the Metro Atlanta area. Our mission is to empower, educate and uplift Black Women.
