The Melanated Pearl Corporation uses digital technology, social media platforms, and 21st century skills; communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, to increase access and opportunities for Black Women to live, thrive, and give back using the tools of financial literacy and an increased knowledge of investments and wealth building. The content we produce helps our company capture and celebrate the stories of our target audience, establish and grow our community by providing captivating and relatable content that makes Black Women confident and empowered so they can take control of their personal, professional, and financial future. Year 2 - 2019-2020November 2020, Melanated Pearl Corp celebrated TWO Years in Business. October 2019The Bridge Fund - “I’m In for $10”: Many families have lost income and are struggling to pay bills as the pandemic ravages the economy. Melanated PEARL Corporation offers a financial bridge of up to $250. The “I’m In for $10” Bridge Fundraiser launched in October 2019 with a goal to rope in 10 to 15 key fundraisers as proof that working women are willing to contribute to the growth of another.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to raise $2,000 in 6 months for the fund even before the pandemic hit. January 2020 Before the pandemic began, Melanated Pearl Corporation launched and continues to maintain a Bridge Fund through the “I’m in for $10” Fundraiser. As you know, in Georgia, a typical household with one adult and two children needs about $5,000 a month to cover basic expenses. We know and understand that this is not the reality of many working women living in Georgia. We designed the “I’m in for $10” Bridge Fund Fundraiser for working women. During a time when many families have lost income and are struggling to pay bills and as we learn to survive and thrive in the new normal, Melanated Pearl Corporation offers a financial bridge of up to $250. February 2020 Before the quarantine was enforced, Melanated Pearl Corporation held our first PEARL World event of 2020 on Leap Day February 29th presenting “a day at the S.P.A.” aka I LOVE BLACK Women! The Cost of Entry was $11.11. Program Started at 12:12 PM. The venue B’Mari Events Studio in Jonesboro, GA for a S.P.A. is owned and operated by Black small business owners. S.P.A. meaning Spiritual Preparation and Affirmations and we highlighted fifteen Black female entrepreneurs Educating, Uplifting, and Empowering the PEARL girls in and around our community!Women were asked to dress in GREEN, YELLOW, & RED. Women over 50 were asked to dress in PURPLE. This was an inspirational and spiritually uplifting program! S.P.A. services were available on site via vendors. March 2020 The PEARL Van is Perfectly Designed and Engineered to house and deliver your PEARL Girl SWAG. The Melanated Pearl Corporation ProMaster 1500 was wrapped and allowed us to become a Fully Mobile. We currently use the mobile ProMaster as a Popup Shop, Food Delivery, and SWAG Shop. Melanated Pearl is a non profit organization whose mission centers around the empowering, educating and uplifting of women of color. Wear clothing with a message! @melanatedpearlapparel Our Custom Designed Retail Van is a Fun Alternative to Brick & Mortar. If you see the van, you can stop me and start shopping. In 2020, we will be joining several festivals and outdoor markets selling our products and spreading our message. All merchandise purchased supports our organization to educate, uplift, and empower women; black women in particular! In response to COVID19 Pandemics, like any disaster, strain individuals, family, community, business, and societal resources. As we all work to develop new strategies to fund our lifestyles, nonprofits, small businesses, and artistic practices, Melanated Pearl Corporation reminds us that Black communities and Black women, in particular, have always known how to adapt, survive, and make do with what we have. What do we have? We have each other! While the current state of various industries might be up in the air, one thing is for certain...some good will come out of this if we stick together. During this time of unparalleled unrest, Melanated Pearl Corporation reminds active living in our mission to educate, uplift, and empower.

April 2020 At present, we are being challenged to dive back into the systems that our elders and ancestors developed to keep on keeping on. In response, Melanated Pearl Corporation has launched new initiatives to replace in-person events; in late April we curated The Melanated Pearl SuperMom Self Care Kit. At all times, but especially during times such as this; black women, our self-care is vital. Black Women spend most of our time caring for the needs of others (family, friends, coworkers and spouses) and often put our own needs on the back burner. This has proven to be detrimental for us in the long run. Audre Lorde said: “Caring for myself…is self-preservation and that is an act of political warfare.” So just in time for Mother’s Day! & In the spirit of collective action and creative works, Melanated Pearl Corporation was able to purposely invest in black female entrepreneurs while celebrating Black Motherhood. Crystal Perry announces the Mother’s Day “Self Care” Kits May 2020Coronavirus Care Packages for Mothers’ Day 2020: Recognizing that the economic impact of COVID-19-related business closures could make it more difficult for lower income families to celebrate their mothers, Melanated PEARL Corporation provided over $4,000 in funding to local Black women-owned businesses to create the SuperMom SelfCare Kit - Mothers’ Day care packages. Our founder personally delivered packages to more than 25 women with items that included: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ‘SuperMom’ T-shirts, all-natural feminine hygiene products, candles, and various other special gifts. Businesses that were highlighted on marketing materials as well as social media, providing much-needed promotion for these local, Black women-owned businesses. The idea behind the Melanated SuperMOM Self-Care kit is to encourage the celebration of your authentic self. If you have ever purchased or received a sample of health and beauty products, women of color, know the feeling of opening products that aren’t necessarily culturally appropriate. Every product in the kit assists you in maintaining a high quality of life. Every dollar you spend equals jobs and supports fair wages for black female entrepreneurs. Every product is connected to a Black female entrepreneur with a powerful story.
Later in mid-May, Melanated Pearl Corporation partnered with female entrepreneurs Tiarra Moore with Save Our Jewels and Derrione Felder with Shop Milan Gizelle to address period poverty among homeless women. Did you know that the government provides shelters with condoms for men, but NOT sanitary napkins for women?
In response to Black Lives MatterBlack is under ATTACK!! Say Her Name is intended to serve as a resource for the media, organizers, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to better understand and address Black women’s experiences of profiling and policing.

We must be targeted and focused on our spending. This call to action comes at a time when the spending power in the Black community is increasing faster than in any other minority group, but is not being spent within the community. Busy Buying Black: People are showering Black-owned businesses with support in the wake of protests against police brutality. The notion of circulating black wealth within the black community is nothing new. It’s simply black capitalism – a way to build wealth in the black community by encouraging black people to spend their money with black entrepreneurs and businesses. The sudden attention on inequality in America has spun numerous online lists spotlighting Black-owned companies for people to support. Support for Local Low-Income Families 2020: Food Delivery Upon hearing that one local food bank, Metro Atlanta Urban Farm, was struggling to manage the pandemic-related surge of delivery requests, Melanated PEARL Corp began delivering meals to elderly and incapacitated people in low-income areas (twice a week). In June and July, that route included more than 45 families in the greater Atlanta area.

Melanated Pearl Corporation is a 501c3 non profit organization located in Hampton, Ga a subsection of Clayton County established in November 2018. PEARL is an acronym meaning Passionate Engaged Activists, Resisting Limitations and we speak to our audiences passions, engage them, give them a call to action and show them how to resist the idea that they are limited in any way. Melanated Pearl Corporation plays a vital role in building a healthy community by providing critical services that contribute to economic stability and mobility of women. Our organization targets services for Black Women in the Metro Atlanta area. Our mission is to empower, educate and uplift Black Women.
