PURPOSE: Too many organizations in the Southern Crescent & South Metro Atlanta are working and seeking funding in isolation from one another. According to Regina Deloach - Chair: During the onset of the pandemic Invest Clayton, the Development Authority of Clayton County gave out $500,000.00 in grants to our business community as well as our non-profit community. This was a start but does not begin to fund the needs of the community. The OysterShell managed by Melanated PEARL Corporation seeks to address negative economic impacts in the Southern Crescent caused by the public health emergency by implementing Collaborative Community Collective Impact Initiative to fund programs led by Black females to address economic harms to workers, households, small businesses, impacted industries, and the public sector. Collective impact brings people together, in a structured way, to achieve social change. Each organization may be using the money for a range of things including, providing pick-up (food/pharmacy) services to senior citizens and medically unstable individuals, to helping provide mental health crisis intervention counseling.
Target Population: Targeting Nonprofits led by Black Women and housed in Clayton County, South Metro Atlanta, and or Zip Codes with LOW Child Wellbeing Index Score.
Our collective impact approach involves a structured process that leads to a common agenda, shared measurement system, and continuous communication among a cohort of grantees that provide direct services. The goal of the collective impact approach is to create large scale community change. The collective impact team will serve as a central hub featuring resources for Black-owned and female led NGO. By working with our extensive network of partners, we will collect a strong library of programs and educational materials to help the NGO community in their recovery and growth.
With approved funding, Melanated Pearl Corporation has an opportunity to develop and facilitate a Southern Crescent Funding Collective. This opportunity Not only covers the cost of the program but also provides up to funding to each organization that participates. Melanated Pearl Corporation would like to extend this invitation to your organization to participate in a special collaborative collective impact initiative entitled the OysterShell.

Melanated Pearl Corporation plays a vital role in building a healthy community by providing critical services that contribute to economic stability and mobility of women. Our organization targets services for Black Women in the Metro Atlanta area. Our mission is to empower, educate and uplift Black Women.
